Shirley Fox

With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, our family announces the passing of Shirley Fox, who departed this world peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at the remarkable age of 107. She was born on February 17th, 1918, in Bronx, New York, Aunt Shirley lived through more than a century of change, challenge, and wonder. She carried with her the wisdom of generations, the strength of resilience, and a heart full of knowledge. Her long life was a testament to a strong work ethic, curiosity, and love for her family which she treasured every day. Aunt Shirley was a trail blazer in many areas of her life, including earning an Art degree from Hunter College. She was the first to attend college within her family and most women in her day. She dedicated her career to working at Ostrolenk Faber. It is considered one of the nation’s leading intellectual property law firms. She worked there for over 65 years until she was 94 years old, hand drawing detailed pictures for patent applications. She possessed remarkable artistic qualities like her father and created several beautiful paintings of her own. She delighted in sharing her knowledge and traditions with younger family members. She was preceded in death by her parents: David and Fannie Fox, her brothers, Sam (wife Zelda), Mike and Marvin (wife Elinor). She is survived by her sister-in-law Evelyn Fox and 10 nieces and nephews: Alissa Fox, Stefan Fox, Daniel Fox, Douglas Fox, Bruce Fox, Andy Fox, Nelson Fox, Tracy Jakob, Adam Fox and Gary Fox and extended family, who will forever cherish her goodbye memory and the lessons she imparted. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 7445 Awty School Ln., Houston, Texas, 77055. Though we say goodbye for now, we are comforted knowing that Aunt Shirley lived a full, beautiful life that touched all who knew her. Her spirit and legacy will continue to guide and inspire us for generations to come.
