Robert Michael Corn

Robert Michael Corn, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in Houston, Texas, following a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. Born on January 20, 1953, in Long Branch, New Jersey, Robert spent his early years moving with his family through Shrewsbury, New Jersey; Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and North Andover, Massachusetts, before ultimately settling in El Paso, Texas. Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Vivienne Corn, and his parents-in-law, Albert and Clara Lewis. In 1980, Rob married Marilyn Lewis, and together they built a family that was his greatest joy. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his three children, Allison Hartman (Scott), Sara Wood (David), and Michael Corn; his four beloved grandchildren, Jacob and Abby Hartman, and Sydney and Elizabeth Wood; his sister, Elaine SooHoo (David), and their son, Robert SooHoo; and many loving family members and friends. The family would like to express a deep appreciation to MD Anderson and his caregivers for their efforts to enhance Rob’s life during his final months. In his youth, Rob developed a lifelong love of skiing and ice hockey. He graduated from Coronado High School in El Paso, TX and went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government with honors in 1975. He continued his education at the University of Houston Law Center, receiving his Juris Doctor in 1978, the same year he was admitted to the State Bar of Texas. Rob began his legal career in commercial litigation with Woodard, Hall & Primm, where he spent more than 2 decades. He later started his own practice, continuing to serve clients for more than 20 additional years. He was known for his dedication to his clients, his sharp legal mind, and his steady professionalism. Outside of his professional life, Rob remained devoted to the activities he loved. He continued skiing and playing ice hockey for more than 30 years, and spent many memorable days boating on Lake Travis outside of Austin. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his enduring friendships, and the joy he found in time spent with his children, grandchildren, and loved ones. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3:30 PM in the Sophia & Jack Bender Memorial Chapel at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 7445 Awty School Ln, Houston, TX 77055.
