Michelle Roth Glauben

Michelle Roth Glauben, 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 27, 2021 in Houston, Texas. Michelle was born on August 30, 1963 to Evelyn Pauly Roth and the late Franklin M. Roth. As the oldest child and only girl born to Evelyn and Franklin, Michelle dazzled them from the very beginning with her adorable smile, precious curls, artistic abilities and kind nature. As the leader of the Roth-pack, Michelle looked out for her younger brothers - advising, defending and sometimes bossing them around, always out of love. At the age of 18, she headed to the University of Texas at Austin to study art and communications. She joined DPhiE and during her sophomore year met the love of her life, Barry Glauben, following an intramural softball game. Barry was her perfect match balancing her cool demeanor with his boundless energy. They married soon after graduating from UT and settled down in Houston where they both worked for the family business, PREFCO, alongside her dad, Franklin. Her life truly blossomed after the birth of their daughter Hayley, and a few years later, son Blake. Michelle found her calling as a mom of two, nurturing their development, celebrating all of their milestones in grand fashion and planning for their incredible futures. Despite both children attending college out of state, Michelle and Barry rarely missed an opportunity to see Hayley cheer on the Michigan Wolverines or watch Blake pitch a no-hitter for the Rhodes Lynx. Nothing made Michelle happier than watching her children shine in pursuit of their dreams. Any casual observer of Michelle's daily life and phone records would conclude that in addition to her kids, she was incredibly devoted to her husband Barry, and mom Evelyn. After 34 years of marriage, Barry and Michelle were in complete harmony - anticipating each other's needs and supporting shared dreams. Evelyn and Michelle were often mistaken for sisters and even showed up in matching, unplanned outfits on occasion. They were partners in good fun whether it be a college tour for the kids, lunch and bread pudding at the Nordstrom cafe with dear friend Ellen or shopping at the Galleria. No matter the occasion, Michelle loved celebrating with family, often hosting more than 30 family members for a holiday dinner or festive gathering - putting her special touch on every event. Her deviled eggs, roasted broccoli and potato casserole were always huge hits, as were her decorations and party favors. And she truly excelled at gift giving. The time and energy she put into finding the perfect gift for a friend, family member or beloved pup was a means to express her love for them. In life, Michelle always tried to set a good example for her kids, reminding them that the glass is always half full and there is a solution for any issue. When in doubt, grab a venti iced green tea from Starbucks and do a little bit of retail therapy or pottery painting to clear your mind. Michelle was preceded in death by her father Franklin Roth, grandparents Erna and Hans Pauly and Mabel and Isadore Roth, and uncle Fred Pauly. She is survived by her devoted husband Barry, daughter Hayley and fiancé Mitchell Robbins, son Blake, mother Evelyn Roth, brother Rodney Roth and wife Robin, brother Jason Roth and wife Lynnie, parents-in-law Frieda and Max Glauben, brother-in-law Phillip Glauben and wife Linda, sister-in-law Shari Becker and husband Norm, aunt and uncle Barbara and Allen Pauly, nieces and nephews Gavin, Cameron and Ellie Roth, Sarah and Brett Golman, Ross and Stacey Glauben, Alec and Ellen Becker, Delaney and Justin Katz, and Madison Becker, grandnieces, grandnephew, many cousins and pups, Coco, Oakley, Kooper, and Beau. The family extends its utmost appreciation to Dr. Kathleen Schmeler, Sarah, Monique, Deepthi and the rest of the team at the MD Anderson Gynecologic Oncology Center for their loving dedication to Michelle's well-being. The family is forever grateful to Melba Diaz for her 26 years of friendship and assistance. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 29th at 12pm at the Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet St, with Rabbi Roy Walter officiating. Contributions may be made to the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, MD Anderson Cancer Center or the charity of your choice.
