M. M. Feld Jr.

M. M. Feld of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at age 91 on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. As was true in the rest of his life, he spent the last days of his journey with those he loved, who also loved and cared for him. Born and raised in Houston, M. M. lived his entire life in his hometown except for a stint in El Paso, TX where he was stationed while serving in the United States Army Reserve. M. M. was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Fannie Feld; and his sisters, Bernice Feld and Lois Marks, with whom he was great friends. He was also preceded in death by his most beloved wife and best friend of 61 years, Carole Feld. He was a great father, and his legacy lives on in the lives and spirits of his 5 children, Jan (Tracy) Hammer, Michael Feld (partner Olive Smith), Ellen (Jan Schwartz) Feld, Larry (Karen) Feld, and Mark Feld (partner Lee Hamrick); 11 grandchildren, Eugenie (Artur), Emily, Kevin (Jenn), Max (Megan), Dash (fiancee Kristen), Rocky, Sunni (Cameron), Carli (Brent), Sean (fiancee Abby), Evan (Hannah), and Courteney; 10 great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Holden, Ava, Austin, Tucker, Eliza, Aiden, Lina, Rosie, and Jack; and many nieces and nephews. M. M. was known as “Pakee” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and as “Superman” to his children. He was a powerful swimmer and champion of floating in pools, possessed an amazing mathematical mind and a storehouse of trivia in his memory banks, and was known by everybody as a loving, generous, and very funny man. He also had a terrific, deep, resonant singing voice and never failed to recall the tunes and sing along to his many favorite songs. The family will always be grateful for the dedication and phenomenal care of Pally Hensley, Carlett Lee, and Bridget McCray. A funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon, April 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Kagan-Rudy Chapel at Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet St., Houston, TX 77074.
