Loretta Krasoff

Loretta Levy Krasoff, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Loretta was born on March 4, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Murray and Shirley Levy. Loretta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She dedicated her life caring for her family and was the pillar of love and compassion to all who knew her. Loretta lived in Brooklyn, New York for 12 years, then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana for a year, and finally Houston, Texas. Loretta attended and graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1956. She was an excellent student and her love for learning was an inspiration to her children. It was love at first sight when Loretta met Kenneth at The Houston Jewish Community Center. Kenneth was truly the love of her life. Loretta and Kenneth’s marriage was a true partnership, built of mutual love and an unwavering commitment to each other. They worked as a team in all things, especially raising their children and running a business. Together, Loretta and Kenneth shared a passion for travel, taking countless road trips, boating, and summers at lake resorts or coastal destinations. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Shirley Levy, husband, Kenneth L. Krasoff, son in law, Joshua N. Roberts, and brothers, Richard Levy and Arnold Levy. She is survived by her three children, Jay Krasoff, Steven (Molly) Krasoff, and Gina Roberts; her adoring grandchildren who knew her as Grammy, Mazelle (Adam) Cannon, Rachelle (David) Kuchinsky, Benjamin Roberts, Bess Krasoff, Sophia Krasoff, Julia Roberts, Amanda Krasoff, and Myles Krasoff. She is also survived by her loving great grandchildren, Noah, Maya and Shai Kuchinsky, and Aerin Cannon. Loretta’s family would like to express a deep appreciation to the Brookdale Galleria staff for their efforts to enhance Loretta’s life during her final days. A graveside service was held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Beth Yehshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 7445 Awty School Ln., Houston, Texas, 77055.
