Kathleen "Judy" Hirsch

Kathleen “Judy” Hirsch, adored wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, in Houston, Texas. She was born in 1940 to Roswell Rulapaugh and Katherine Evelyn Rash Rulapaugh, Judy graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Lucy Webb Hayes National Training School at Sibley Hospital, Washington D.C. in 1961. Judy cherished being an OB/GYN nurse, caring for newborn babies and their mothers. Her 45-year career spanned patient care, being a nurse manager, and finally, in nursing and physician education. She retired in 2006 from Clear Lake Regional Medical Center. Judy always believed in the important role of nursing care, and many of us can attest to the loving care and advice given by “our own nurse.” The center of Judy’s life was always her family. She was devoted to her husband Mike and immensely proud of her children. While she was a quiet person, she would happily share stories about her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments. Judy believed in service to others, hard work, devotion to family, and honest, forthright character. And by example, her actions formed the strong foundation that her family still stands firmly and proudly upon. Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Michael I. Hirsch, and her brothers Robert and Duane Rulapaugh. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Hirsch-Carver and Michael Carver, son and “favorite daughter-in-law,” David Hirsch and Holli Hirsch, daughter and son-in-law, Michele Hirsch Jenofsky and Jeffrey Jenofsky, her siblings Rebecca Brady and Fred Rulapaugh, Charlene Hobby, and her grandchildren Seth Carver, Noah Carver, Jonah Carver, Jacob Hirsch, Sophia Hirsch, and Andrew Jenofsky. A graveside service will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, TX 77598 on Sunday morning, July 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM.
