Arnold Ravdel

Dr. Arnold Ravdel: Healing hands, steadfast. He helped thousands across three continents, a brilliant orthopedic surgeon with a 60-year career. Arnold will always be honored. Arnold will be forever remembered. - Robert Dad, I thank you for your kindness, your sacrifice, your generosity and your strength. You taught me what hard work is, what dedication looks like, how to endure sacrifice to become the best I can be, what the force of sheer will can accomplish and what quiet grace and humility can do. My life, my world, my education and my achievements have all been inspired by your example. Your words....ad ardua, inferos. I am so grateful for having experienced knowing your sweet playful gentle side as well. My proudest job was being your office manager. Most of all I'm grateful for the chance of having been able to know you in my 50's as a friend. I'll truly miss being able to just ring you up and hear you say, "Well, let's go do nothing together," and having my willing, well mostly willing, cohort and compadre eager to be scooped up and taken on our next little adventure together. Dr. Arnold Ravdel valued not only his life but the precious lives of others. My father practiced medicine for over six decades. His patients adored him, his hospitals revered him, and his colleagues admired him. He went to medical school at age 17, had ten degrees and two fellowships. He loved studying and learning and was incredibly humble and would be the first to say he did not know even when he knew more than those around him. His healing hands would anticipate his patients with the utmost patience and care. As he took care of anyone who needed assistance any way he could. As a father and grandfather, he was equally as kind and patient. Like his Hebrew name, Aaron, he was a great leader, orator, and pioneer. He and my amazing mother, Maureen Ravdel, led our family to better lands and taught us about Judaism, Mitzvot, and loving kindness along the way. I am eternally grateful for all their thought, love, kindness, wisdom, and guidance. May both of their memories continue to be blessings. - Brenda-Lee Dr. Arnold Ravdel was a blessing to all those he met. He was an amazing surgeon who loved his family, his patients, and helping people more than anyone. He cared about each patient as though they were his only patient. He was a great healer. As his granddaughter, he was like my best friend and I will miss him more than words can describe. He was my grandfather, my guide, and my confidant. He has touched and healed lives all across the world, and he was a light in all of their lives. He loved G-d and taught us to follow G-d’s ways with all our heart. He was a great man.
