Shirley Ann Rabicoff Landsberg

Shirley Landsberg, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2022. Shirley was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on December 23, 1931 to Sarah and Smiley Rabicoff, of blessed memory. Shirley grew up in Kilgore, Texas. She moved to Dallas at the age of 18 and met her beloved husband, Sonny. They married that same year and remained happily married for almost 72 years. They lived a full, rich, happy life with countless friends and family in Dallas until 2019, when they moved to Houston to be near their family. They loved being able to spend time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and always said how fortunate they were to share this blessing together. Shirley was preceded in death by her dear Sonny, cherished daughter, Marilyn Landsberg Steiner, and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lena and Bernard Rothschild. She is survived by her daughter Sandy Burke and husband Lucky, and her son-in-law Dan Steiner and his wife Patti. “Grammy” as she was lovingly called by all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, is also survived by seven grandchildren and their spouses, Stacey Burke and Josh Reiss, Allison and Philip Wise, Adam and Sylvia Burke, Laurie and Ross Pickei, Scott and Lauren Steiner, Zach and Marissa Savrick, and Carson and Katy Savrick. Shirley and Sonny were blessed to have 13 great-grandchildren, Rina Miriam and Ayala Presley, Laine and Burke Wise, Max, Lucy, and Ryan Burke, Morgan and Tanner Pickei, Mason and Kennedy Steiner, and Eve and Stella Savrick. Shirley and Sonny considered their adored great-grandchildren a special bonus in their lives. Shirley is also survived by her sister Jackie Cooper and husband Marvin, her brother Mendy Rabicoff and wife Natalie, and her brother-in-law Jerry Landsberg and wife Gloria. Shirley is survived by many nieces and nephews who were a very important part of her life. Our family would like to thank Marsha Cayton, Stephanie Barrocas, and The Medallion Assisted Living Residence staff, Bobby Johnson, Destiny Johnson, and Sarah Champaign for their loving and compassionate care for Shirley. Shirley’s life was celebrated at a private graveside burial at Emanu El Memorial Park.
