Sandra Ruth Kirk, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026, in Houston, Texas. She was 85 years old. Sandra was born on April 1, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Samuel and Ida Gornek. She lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, unwavering devotion to her family, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew her. Sandra shared a loving marriage with her devoted husband, Joseph Kirk. Together they built a beautiful life filled with travel, laughter, treasured memories, and a family that became the center of her world. Nothing brought Sandra greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and precious great-granddaughter. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Kirk, their children, Michael Kirk and his wife, Jessica, Lisa Sansiviero and her husband, Peter, and Tracy Agnich and her husband, Bruce. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Samantha Anderson and her husband, Griffin, Dylan Agnich and his fiancée, Taylor Luce, Magnolia Collins, Sammy Kirk, and Elijah Kirk, and found immeasurable joy in becoming the great-grandmother of Scottie Anderson, who brought endless smiles. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Gornek, and his wife, Linda. Sandra had a gift for making people feel welcome. She loved gathering around the mahjong table with friends, traveling with Joe and their dear friends Marilyn Albert and her late husband, Jay, and creating lasting memories with those she loved most. Her warmth, gentle nature, and genuine interest in others made her a cherished friend to many. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers, Angela Osinachi and Laury Bonner, the caregivers at MorningStar Memory Care and Gentiva Hospice for the exceptional care, dignity, and kindness they provided Sandra during her final days. Their support brought comfort not only to Sandra but to her entire family. Sandra’s legacy is one of unconditional love, quiet strength, generosity, and grace. She will be remembered for her warm smile, caring heart, and the deep love she had for her family. Though she will be profoundly missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11:30 am in the Sophia and Jack Bender Memorial Chapel at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 7445 Awty School Lane, Houston, Texas 77055.
