Rose Molly Goldenberg Rose

Rose Molly Goldenberg Rose passed away after a brief illness peacefully in her sleep on February 13, 2023, surrounded by her family. Rose was born to Louis and Sarah Winick on June 11, 1938, in Port Chester, New York. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Justin Rose. She is survived by her twin brother Morris Goldenberg (Phyllis) and her eldest sister Adele Oberstein. She was predeceased by her older sister Rusty Eisenman (Larry). She had four children Howard Rose, Geoffrey Rose (predeceased), Suzanne Rose Smith, and Michael Rose (Catherine). She was the very proud grandmother of Matthew and Zachary Smith, Benjamin Rose, and Andrew and Jenna Rose. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Rose graduated Pace University in New York City in 1959. She began working at Wedgwood Porcelain where she met the love of her life Justin. They remained in New York City until their first son Howard was born. They then moved to the Washington D.C area where their remaining three children were born. All four children were born within a span of five years. The family moved to Los Angeles, California in 1965 where they remained for five years. In 1970 they packed up the family station wagon and moved to Houston, Texas settling permanently in the Meyerland neighborhood. In this area she found community and purpose. In particular she became very active to both Congregation Beth Yeshurun and the Jewish Community Center. While her children were in school, Rose enrolled at The University of Houston where upon completing her continuing studies; she was able to become a CPA. Around this same time, Rose also continued her Jewish Studies and became a Bat Mitzvah in her fifties. Rose next began her accounting career at H. & R. Block. She soon moved on to Richard Werner, CPA, ultimately becoming his business partner. Eventually her accounting firm became Rose G. Rose P.C, where she worked until recently. Rose had many hobbies including collectibles and tennis. She valued her good friends who she would meet with weekly to study topics of Judaism. She was an active member of many Jewish organizations and participated in many roles in various charitable groups. She enjoyed the theater where she served as a volunteer usher for many years. She had a love of travel and with her husband Justin visited many varied locations. After Justin’s passing, Rose found very close friends with whom she continued to travel and explore the world. Rose received the most joy from spending time with her grandchildren and was an active participant in their lives. She leaves behind many good friends. She was truly loved, admired and relied on by many. She will be deeply missed. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11 AM at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak, 1037 N. Post Oak Rd., Houston, TX 77055.
