Roberta "Bobbie" Weiss

After completing Netflix and conquering every level of solitaire on her iPad, Roberta “Bobbie” Weiss decided it was finally time to log off for good. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Naturally, she looked fabulous. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Harry and Mattie Clark, Bobbie was a proud New Yorker with a personality as bold as her electric blue eyeliner. She launched her career in the heart of Manhattan’s Fashion District, where her love of style—and Big Hair—was born. When she later relocated to Texas, her hair found its spiritual home, and she and her husband, Don, quickly found fellow “Yankees” to befriend, forming lifelong bonds over bagels and brisket. Bobbie’s true masterpiece, however, was her family. She was a fiercely devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed down her warmth, wit, and impeccable taste to the generations that followed. Her legacy includes her daughters, Linda Sobel (and husband, Dr. Steven Sobel), Cindy Weiss, z”l, and Michelle Cohen (and husband, Nick Jameson); her grandchildren, Kevin and Jackie Sobel, Dr. Alex and Erin Gitlin, and Daniel Cohen; and her great-grandchildren, Carson and Landon Sobel, Benjamin, Maxwell, and Chloe Gitlin. Each of them inherited her good looks, magnetic charm, and deep belief that they were destined for stardom. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom knew that if Bobbie was in the room, the spotlight was already taken. Bobbie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald “DR” Weiss; her daughter, Cindy Weiss; and her sister, Sheila Heiman. We’re sure they’re all catching up now—probably over a strong cup of coffee and a little harmless gossip. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 11:30 am in the Sophia and Jack Bender Memorial Chapel at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 7445 Awty School Lane, Houston, Texas 77055. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Bobbie’s remarkable life. Embellished stories are not only welcome—they’re encouraged. Bobbie would’ve done the same for you.
