Nikki Bennett

Nikki Friedman Bennett, age 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 9, 2016. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 16, 1947 to Sylvia and Sol Hutt. She lived in New York City and in London, England with her parents, her older sister Marsha, and her younger brother Mitchell. After her family moved to Dallas, she attended school at Stonewall Jackson Elementary School, Franklin Junior High School and graduated from Hillcrest High School. She also attended Arlington State College. Nikki was very popular during her teen years, and many of the friends she made at Hillcrest High School became lifelong friends. In fact, one of Nikki's greatest traits was her ability to get along extremely well with all people. In 1966 and 1967, Marsha and Nikki married the Friedman brothers, Stan and David (Chipo). She and David had three children: Jodi (who passed away when she was about one month old), Shannon, and Cary. She later married Ronald Bennett, and quickly created a strong, blended family as step-mother and grandmother to Ron's children and grandchildren. She was much loved by everyone in both families. Nikki was a true entrepreneur, Like her mother Sylvia, she devoted her career to Golden Acres, then the Dallas Home for the Jewish Aged. She later worked many years for Jewish Family Service. At the same time, she was a bookkeeper for some local companies, opened a tax store with her friend Barbara, and also did medical billing for several doctors. Upon retiring from her JFS job, Nikki worked alongside husband, Ron Bennett, to build their business, A Better Letter. Nikki was preceded in death by her first husband, David Friedman; her brother, Mitchell Lloyd Hutt; her daughter, Jodi Friedman; her father, Sol; her mother, Sylvia; and her Stepfather, Morris J. Stein. Nikki is survived by husband, Ron Bennett; her daughter Shannon Bazbaz (Joseph); her son Cary Friedman; her sister Marsha Friedman (Stan); her stepchildren, Scott Bennett (Cristy), Stacy Horowitz (Bobby); and Gary Bennett (Minnie); and eight grand-children - Ana, Evan, Sam and Alexis Bennett; Brittany and Kailey Horowitz; and Bailey and Jacob Bazbaz..
