Jaimie Scott Wengroff

Jaimie "Jake" Wengroff, 53, died suddenly on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Jake, and his twin brother, Sean, were born on September 20, 1970. They were the most wonderful blessing any family would cherish and be proud of. Growing up in Long Beach, NY, Houston, TX and New Jersey, Jake attended school in Long Beach, NY where his family resided until they were 11 years old. They eventually moved to Houston in 1981 where he attended Westchester Junior High School. Then he moved to East Brunswick, NJ where he finished junior high school and high school. Jake and Sean both attended Brandeis University in Boston, MA, and Jake graduated with a BA in Comparative Literature. After graduation, Jake continued his education at the University of Miami, and within two years, he received two master’s degrees. Jake was employed with Bear Sterns brokerage firm in their Public Relations department as a VP analyst and then with Edelman Public Relations Worldwide and PR21. He then started his own Public Relations firm. He also taught graduate study programs for Bloomberg and was a senior analyst at Frost & Sullivan in San Antonio, TX. Jake was a king in his business. He finally moved back to Houston in 2023. Jake was a caring person, and he always worried about his mother living in a climate colder than the one in Houston. He loved everything about Houston especially the food, the people, and his work. Jake was happy that he and his family joined Congregation Or Ami. He was a caregiver to his mother, and she considers him her best friend. The family would like to thank everyone at Congregation Or Ami for their warm and wonderful welcome. And a special thanks to Rabbi Estes for all he has done to help during this trying time. Jake is survived by his mother, Sheila, and twin brother, Sean. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Congregation Or Ami, 3443 Wilcrest Drive, Houston, Texas 77042.
