Blanche Fisher

My mother, Blanche Fisher, passed away peacefully at The Medical City of Plano on February 16, 2021. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 6 1929, to Jack and Eva Parks. That is also where she met and married the love of her life, Sheldon Fisher. They had 4 children, Gary, Arlene, Rhonda, and Mark. Blanche enjoyed making friends and had several very special relationships over the years. She met a wonderful group of people through her Temple at Congregation Beth Torah. Mom and Dad enrolled in the Adult B'nai Mitzvah program and enjoyed the wonderful group of people sharing that spiritual journey. Our mother was proud of her family, including the Eglash (maternal grandmother), Parks (maternal grandfather), and Fisher (dad's), sides of her extended family. She loved family parties, dancing and great food. Blanche enjoyed entertaining and had several events though out the years to bring everyone together. Her and Sheldon had an incredible 60th Anniversary party which brought together many different groups from throughout their lives. Blanche would strike up a conversation anywhere and enjoyed having 'a person' she could call upon at a restaurant or a business to make sure she had the best service. We are very grateful for the incredible assistance James "Trey" Williams and Phyllis Lyons were two of the many people who provided help to Blanche, especially after my dad passed away. There were many other great friends to both of my parents, Sandy Davis, Alana Oldenburg, Dr. David Schwartz, Susan Cagle, Susie Boley, Dr. John and Debbie Wills, Robyn and Mark Brown, Lisa and Seth Miller, and Sharon and Morris Fried (my apologies for those I didn't mention by name) Although she wasn't happy to leave the home she had shared with Sheldon, she realized it would be safer to be in an assisted living facility. We would like to thank the management and staff at The Waterford of Plano. They did their very best to make sure that Blanche was comfortable and happy in her final 18 months. Through the 23 and Me genetic ancestry application, we found another family member and Blanche welcomed her grandson, David Bingenheimer (my sister Arlene's son) and his wife Bridget along with their children Christopher, Deja, Bria, and Maya (her greatgrandchildren). Blanche is survived by them, my brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Linda Fisher, and their children, Josh and Katie, as well as my wife, Suzi, and our son, Jude. She had a great sense of humor and a cheeky smile for everyone. She had very precious friendships and support was always there for her from both her neighbors and her friends, including those fellow members of the Mended Hearts group. Mom's health, has over a few years, had setbacks. Despite that, she took everything that was thrown at her and always bounced back. Although becoming more fragile in body and mind, Blanche held on with the help of her friends and family, knowing she was taken care of until the very end. We all have our own very special memories. She was a precious wife and mother who was much loved and will be very sadly missed by all her family and everyone who knew her. Blanche was predeceased by Rhonda, Arlene, and her beloved Sheldon.
